Concrete pool deck contractors in Linden: a town ordinance served from the county site
The county's municipalities page lists the Town of Linden with a note that it has no website, and the town's rules live on the county's site. Linden is one of the governments that appoint members to the county's Joint Planning Board, and the county posts the Linden Zoning Ordinance and Linden Subdivision Ordinance on its planning ordinances page.
Section 1-108 of the zoning ordinance requires a zoning permit before the excavation for or construction of any building or other structure, accessory structures included, and before moving, altering or repairing a structure. The Code Enforcement Manager issues it, the application needs a scale plan or plat showing the lot shape, buildings and use, and the permit goes void after six months unless the work is well under way. The county's FAQ lists swimming pools among the things that need a zoning permit. Ask County Planning & Inspections what your surround needs, and see our permit guide for how the offices compare.
Roanoke and Warne ground: wet soil at 17 of 40 map points
The USDA soil survey, checked at 40 random points inside the town, found Roanoke and Warne soils, occasionally flooded, at 17. Wickham fine sandy loam, rarely flooded, showed at 10, Dogue fine sandy loam at 7, Altavista at 4 and Tarboro loamy sand at 2. Roanoke is poorly drained and Warne is somewhat poorly drained. Wickham is well drained, Dogue and Altavista are moderately well drained, and Tarboro is somewhat excessively drained.
That mix is why we probe every Linden yard before we price it. Where water lingers, the base goes deeper and gets compacted. The fall sheds splash and rain toward a low spot you can live with, and the edges stay out of the puddle. FEMA's flood layer put 30 of the 40 points in Zone X minimal hazard and 9 in the 0.2 percent annual chance area, with none in Zone AE. Check your own address on the state flood risk lookup and bring what you find.
We price by the square foot: $8 to $14 for a broom or knockdown finish, $12 to $20 for stamped. A 600 to 800 sq ft surround runs $4,800 to $11,200.
